Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of Carlingford Bowling Sport and Recreational Club and Denistone Sports Club for their ongoing support and co-operation over the past twelve months.
I am writing to all the members on behalf of the entire board and team at Carlo and in future, I will endeavour to keep all the members updated regularly, about what is happening with the Carlo Group.
As many of you would have noticed, Carlo and Denistone have been undergoing some changes so far this year already. Further updates on work in progress, as well plans which are in pipeline for future projects include:
Carlingford
The club is currently speaking to Parramatta Council in regard to attaining tenure ship. There are also some bigger plans which are currently being presented to the council to keep up with the demand of growing community in Carlingford. If this proposal goes through, the club will have to agree on spending close to 1 million dollars for the community and members benefits.
The club has already started with improvements at the club for members and guests, by upgrading the outdoor area by turning the former Pizza area into a kids play zone. This has been completed and operational.
The club has also turned the former green view room into an arcade area. This is for teenagers who cannot access the kids play area. In its early stage, this area is showing good foot traffic and support from the members who have visited the arcade.
The club is also currently refurbishing the poker machine area and VIP room as this was not used during covid times.
The TAB has been moved into the back of the mixed lounge area. The wall between TAB and the main bar area will be removed to become an open planned area. This will help us to increase the seating capacity by approx. 50 seats. This new capacity can and will be used by all patrons. (Please see the map attached for better visibility)
The club has applied for a DA to get an new lit entry sign at the main entrance on Evans Road
The club is also working on the access ramp, to ensure it is user friendly and well lit up at night.
The club will also be refurbishing all the bathrooms. We will be installing new basins, hand dryers, and new cubicles.
The new Asian Bistro has been well received and doing extremely well. We are in talks with the owners to extend the bistro services throughout the week.
Denistone
The club will have an upgrade around the greens with new shades being installed on the bottom two (2) greens.
The club is refurbishing the poker machine area and VIP room, as this was not used during covid times.
The club has also purchased new colour barefoot bowls, to help with the increase demand in the area.
The club is also refurbishing all the bathrooms. We will be installing new basins, hand dryers and new cubicles.
General Update
The Club has met with various local councillors and Lord Mayors to keep the developmental dialog open with the relevant authorities. We also had the privilege to have NSW Premier coming to visit us at Carlo recently.
The Board is currently in talks with multiple professional investment companies to set out the short, medium, and long-term goals of the clubs.
Lastly, Garry Cassidy (Club Treasurer) has resigned from the board. Garry has received a promotion at work and with his new job Garry will not have the time that is required to do this role. We would like to wish Garry the best with his new role and would like to thank him for all the work he has done.
