Appointment of Bowls Coordinator Position at Carlingford Bowling, Sports & Recreation Club.

 

Dear Members,

The Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Morrison into the role of Bowls Coordinator at Carlingford.

Darren comes to Carlingford with a considerable amount of experience in playing the game of bowls and working in the club industry as a Bowls Coordinator, Greenkeeper and Bar Work.

  • Played the game of bowls for 26 years.
  • Involved as a Bowls Coordinator and Turf Management for 18 years.
  • Certified Bowls Australia Club Coach.
  • Built Bowling Clubs from Social Clubs to being one of the elite clubs in NSW.

Darren will commence his employment on Monday 4th November 2024 and we look forward to Darren growing the game of bowls at Carlingford and in the community.

Bowls Work Experience and Organising

  • Pennants and Pennant Training, Chairman of Selectors, Social Play, Zone Events, Umpires, Budgets, Barefoot Bowls and Club Promotions for Members, Tournaments, Sponsorship and Coaching.
  • Setting up and maintain Under 18 Bowls Academy which included Scholarships with Central Coast Schools.
  • Training for Members both on the green and inside talks.
  • Liaising with Management for upcoming schedule and events, Organizing and implementing Calendars for the year.
  • Operating Bowls Link and setting up and Maintaining Team APP for Members.
  • Setting up Jack Attack: New Bowler Initiative.
  • Regional Bowls Manager Bowls Australia
  • Club and Zone/District visits discussing and helping with all programs run by Bowls Australia. 

Bowls Experience

  • Won multiple titles in Club Major Singles, Pairs, Triples, and Fours at clubs on the Central Coast and Merrylands.
  • 2005 Australian Under 18 Singles Winner and Bowler of the year.
  • 2018 Central Coast Bowler of the year.
  • 2018, 2019, 2020 NSW State Open Squad Team plus State Training Camp.
  • 2023 NSW State Triples Winner, Australian Triples 3rd Place and BPL Cup National Champion.
  • 2023/2024 NSW Champion of Champions Pairs Winner.
